A beautiful soul taken too soon.  I have never know anyone who fought so hard, who was so brave and strong and was so determined to make the most of life. I am so upset to have lost her.

We first met when my children started Briar School in 1988. Her son David was already at the school and made friends with my son Peter as they were in the same class.  Marlene and I soon realised that we both loved Cliff Richard and so began the start of our many, many trips by coach, car or train to see him in concert.  

What wonderful times we have had as we spent hours getting to his concerts. It didn't matter to us where he was performing, we were going to get there somehow.  Marlene was so pleased that she was well enough to come to the concert in Blackpool in November 2023. I wish I had caught her reaction on camera as Cliff came on the stage.  Her face said it all and she was so excited to see him.  Towards the end of the concert we ran to the front of the stage, as we always do, as it is so exciting to be so close to him and we spent the last 20 mins singing along with him.

I have so many wonderful memories of our times together over the years and I will miss her laughter, her kindness and her beautiful smile. My lovely friend will be always loved and always remembered.
